And we are going to explore the mindset of success and how it relates to your personal and career success. And you're going to leave with a personal power commitment. So, I have one slide on me. I promise this isn't the Mallerie show, but just so you know why I'm about to talk about everything that I'm going to dive into today. It's um it goes like this. So, I have been coaching entrepreneurs and CEOs since 2017. In 2019, I launched the Abundantly Clear podcast. Um it's been recognized as Forbes as a great podcast to listen to. There's over 300 episodes that relate to the topics that we're going to talk about today. If you're looking for more information, uh, last year I wrote the book, The Abundance Decision. And what I do is executive and high performance coaching. So, I help people be successful in the avenues and paths that they're looking to succeed in. I work with a lot of founders. I work with a lot of teams. And I really I really love what I do, and I'm excited to be here today. So everything that I do falls into the principles of the abundance decision, which is why I wrote the book last year. I believe that all of our success can really be put into these five buckets. And these five buckets are identity, vision, structure, boundaries, and expression. And we don't have time to go into every single one of these buckets today, but what we are going to talk about is a little bit deeper into identity and vision and and how these work together to create your
success. So the question that I really started asking myself a few years ago was how does someone create the life they want? What is the difference between people that really achieve success whether it is in their work whether they're a founder or they're working for a company? You know, you have people that want success. They want success and the goals that they're looking to achieve in an organization. They have goals that they want to achieve financially. Maybe they have goals that they want to achieve in their physical relationship with themsel wanting to lose weight or get healthy. And what is the difference between the people who do and the people who don't? And how do I answer that question really? Because if I can answer that question for people and if I can tell people this is what it takes and this is the difference between the two, then I can really help people create the life that they want. And what it comes down to is their beliefs and their behaviors. So people that create success and people that you know don't reach their goals that process comes down to what people believe about themselves and about the world and the behaviors that follow those beliefs. So our beliefs are really just an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists. And this is the kind of work that oftent times people skip or don't make time for because we're all really used to being busy. We're all really used to having a lot on our plate. We're all really used to having a to-do list that um seems like it it continues to grow and grow by the week. We knock some stuff off and more stuff comes on it, right? And so we don't really sit around very often and ponder why we think what we think. But the thing about our beliefs is that there's two different kinds. We have our conscious beliefs and that is those that we are aware of and we hold them intentionally. And then we also have our unconscious beliefs and those are the beliefs that are ingrained in our convictions that influence our thoughts and behaviors without our conscious awareness. And the thing that's really unique about beliefs is that they come from lots of different places. They come from cultural upbringing. They come from religious teaching. They come from political influence. They come from our peers. They come from media. All of the beliefs that serve us and the beliefs that maybe don't serve us in this season of our life likely came from one of these places. And the thing about beliefs is that really everything that we do starts with this. The belief system that we think in our mind, you know, our mind is kind of like a garden. why we do what we do every single day really kind of starts with the thoughts that we're telling ourselves and the the words that come out of our mouth. And if we look at our behaviors, our behaviors are the way in which one acts or conducts oneself. So really it's just how we move through life, how we move through our work, how we communicate with people, how we behave and our beliefs drive our behavior. So what you believe plays a really profound role in the decisions that you make and why you do what you do every single day. And I'm going to give you an example of why this is so important when it comes to our professional success and our professional uh relationships. So I had a client a few hours ago and we were discussing how she's got a little bit of a pattern where she's running a team. She's working for a company that has a really big vision and really big uh goals that they're after over the next five years. And she has a pattern with herself where she holds a lot of emotional responsibility for the success of her team to a point that even if somebody on her team is not performing and she's done everything that she can and she has trained and she has mentored and she's done everything on her part, she still carries that weight of why somebody else wasn't successful. And after exploring this belief with her a little bit deeper and looking at where the origin of this belief could have started, we learned that this is a belief that she's been carrying for a long time. And some people might call this pattern a peopleleasing pattern. That's a very common uh way that we identify with this pattern. And it was really apparent to her, oh, this is a family dynamic and I've been carrying this belief for decades. Right? And the idea isn't to go into history to relive her past. The idea isn't to go relive everything in her life just to understand this belief. But when we have more understanding about how we were shaped and the things that we learned from others, even if they didn't mean to teach us, we can have more grace and love for ourselves about our own personality traits and what serves us and serves our relationships and what we might want to shift. So when we're looking at the mindset for success, beliefs are a really huge part of it. Everything kind of works like this. The beliefs are the foundation of the habits and the behaviors. The behaviors and the habits make way for opportunities. The opportunities create growth in our life. And growth creates abundance in all forms. So if we're reverse engineering this process, going back to how to help someone become successful and what actually is it that drives them to succeed, we work backwards. We look at your vision. What is it that you want to achieve? Are you looking to grow your team? Are you looking to exceed in your career? And maybe you're going to apply for a new position in the next few months. What is it that you want to accomplish? So, I'm going to ask you that question right here and right now. And I know that you've been listening for a few hours and you might be ready to to jump off of this today, but if you could just ask yourself just for 30 seconds and bear with me. I'm going to go through this slide deck really quick. Six months from now, what is it that you want to accomplish? And when you think about what it is that you want to accomplish, I want you to think about how is it going to make you feel? How is it going to impact your life? What are you going to be doing differently six months from now that you're not doing right now that excites you and that motivates you? What are you going to be celebrating? And I want you to think a little bit deeper than just a tangible, right? Because it's e easy to say, well, I want a raise, right? Or I want a new a new position or I want a promotion or I want to lose 10 pounds. But how's that going to make you feel? And how's it going to be to experience that? And the reason we want to go deeper into this is because when we go into the emotional aspect of you accomplishing this goal, we then start to look at the behaviors and the habits that are going to help support you to get there. And when we look at the behaviors and the habits, we can look at the beliefs that may be supporting you or that might not be. And we can identify the beliefs that if they're not supporting you that you can get rid of.
So after we go from vision, we shift into doing. What habits and behaviors do I need to install to move this vision forward? If you want a promotion, what could you start doing now that is in your control, of course, to help move that forward. If you want to reach a personal income goal or a a weight loss goal or a physical goal, what habits and behaviors do you need to install now so that six months from now you can look back and say, 'Yes, this is the pivotal moment for me when I made this decision about who I was being and that's why I'm celebrating what I'm celebrating today.' This is getting you into a proactive mode of thinking, a conscious pattern of thinking versus that reactive mode that often we're just stuck in, right? That autopilot reactive things are happening so quickly and we're just trying to keep up. When we think about who we need to be in order to get to the next phase of our life, that's when the habits and the behaviors really start to stick.
And then we can go into who am I being? Who am I being? So what beliefs are helping move me forward? And this is like the deeper stuff, the stuff that again we don't really make time for. I would need to believe that I'm deserving of that promotion. I would need to believe that I am worthy of making that money that I want to be making. I would need to believe that I'm deserving of the support for my team to delegate the tasks to people. so that I can rise and lead the company in an even bigger position. Right? Notice if your body felt some type of way to any of those things. When you look at the belief system, you can help figure out if your garden is creating the the plentiful fruit trees that you want to create or if there's a bunch of weeds in the way and making it hard for those fruit trees to grow.
So, here are some beliefs that sneakily show up a lot with my clients that I work with that are after big goals and have big dreams. I am so busy. That in and of itself, and this is where part of you might listen to me and go, 'No, but I am I am busy.' That in and of itself originates from a belief. That in and of itself starts with the belief that one has to be busy and your relationship with time. And this is the hard work. Again, I know because I I I I preach this stuff. I talk about it day in and day out to people. And I know that what happens sometimes when you look at this list and you're like, 'No, that part of your brain wants to fight. That part of your brain wants to fight those unconscious beliefs because it really thinks it needs to keep you safe. It really thinks there's a role and a reason and a purpose for it being there. But even those people that I work with that are in really high performing leadership positions and they've got kids and they've got a million things to do every single week. When they start to unravel this belief of being busy and they shift it to valuing time and their self-perception changes and they say, 'What can I do? How much of an impact can I make in this 10-minute meeting with this team today? How much of an impact can I make in this conversation that I have with this person today? How much of an impact can I make in the time that I spend in this?' You better believe that the results they see in their life are so much greater than the results that they see when the story in the back of their mind is saying, 'I'm so busy. I'm so busy. I'm so busy.' Because the stories we tell oursel is the medicine. The stories we tell oursel is the outcome. And when we look at the stories, we give ourselves so much room to grow and to empower ourselves and to write and create a new story so that six months from now, 12 months from now, three years from now, we are celebrating new goals that have been achieved and we are celebrating new outcomes and we are looking at every area of our life and going, 'Yes, I see who I became because I made that decision on April 23rd to let go of that belief that wasn't serving me and install it with a belief that us. So, we probably don't have three minutes to do this because we are close on time, but let's let's do 30 seconds. What is a belief that's helping move you forward in where you want to go in the vision of your life? Let's just choose one. What is one belief that's helping move you forward in the vision that you want for your life? And what's one belief that is not serving you? And I'm going to go back to this chart because I live and breathe this chart. I live and breathe this chart for myself and I live and breathe it in the work that I do with people. We are reverse engineering this process. We are looking at the outcome that you want, the vision. Where do you want to go? What do you want to be celebrating? What do you want to be experiencing? And then we look at the doing. What are the behaviors and the habits that are moving you forward? What is the the daily action? What is the the way that you handle yourself on a given day? What does that look like? And we look at the belief system. Is the belief system serving those actions so that you can get to the end goal that you're seeking to get to? So, who am I being is where you're looking today. So before you leave with a commitment to yourself, your personal power commitment to yourself, we want it to be something that is connected to your identity. Not just something that you do, but connected to your identity. So going back to Julie's beautiful presentation that she just did, maybe some the behavior is I'm going to make time for myself. I'm going to carve out time in my calendar every single week, 45 minutes for myself to go on a walk or do self-care, whatever that looks like. Now, I invite you to go one step deeper and say, what is the belief system that's going to support that behavior in your life? And how's that going to help move you forward? Maybe it's time to believe that you are worthy of that time. Maybe it's time to believe that life doesn't have to be as busy as it's been. whatever it is that's going to help concrete that behavior so that you'll follow through on it and that way it will become something that you do on a very regular basis. This is not just something that you do this this week in April because you sat and listened to all of this content from these amazing women today, but it became something that you normalized in your life and you created new normals for how you want to be.
That's how you shift from this to this. You make the roots stronger. And that's again how Julie was talking about that resilience. A woman with a resilience temperament, a man with a resilient temperament, their roots are strong. Their foundation is strong. They're tending to their garden. We cannot give if our cup is not tended to. When our cup is overflowing, we have nothing to give. So the more empowered and and grounded you are in your energy, the more you create opportunities for yourself and inherently for others. Because if you take care of yourself and you come from a giving space and you have a giving open heart, you automatically become a person of abundance who creates opportunities for other people too. That energy is infectious and people are going to spend time with you and they're going to feel it and they're going to see it and they're going to go, 'What are you drinking? What medicine are you giving yourself? I want some of that. So, this might seem selfish, but it's not because the more you care for you, the more you're helping other people do the same for
themselves. And that in and of itself sometimes is a switch for people. That self-care in and of itself, taking care of themselves has is selfish. It isn't. And if that's the belief that you're here to uproot today, I invite you to do
so. All right. So shifting real quickly to your personal power commitment. What is one belief you want to focus your energy on? And what is one belief you want to release? Again, we're just doing oneonone to make it easy, to make it simple, to make it something that you can take and practice on this week. I invite you to continue doing this work with yourself and not approach this as a oneanddone. And if you want more resources too, the abundance decision, there is I gotta scroll down. This is my book. There is a lot more about these principles and what identity work looks like and how it impacts us and our our work performance and our professional performance. Um, I invite you to read that if that's something that can help you, too. All right.
Well, Mallerie, thank you for that wonderful presentation. And yes, everybody, I put a link to her um website in the chat. I'm also going to put the link to the book on Amazon in the chat, too. So, thank you so much for that wonderful presentation. All right, I'm trying to go through the questions. We've had a lot of just we've had a lot of things that um have just come through the chat, and I'm trying to see if we have a question. Um, oh, here's one. We kind of talked about it in the chat, but here's one that came in from Una, and she says, 'What is the answer to I am so busy? How can I make that change?' It Yeah, that's a really it's a good question. And depending on who's asking the question, sometimes there's complex answers. Um, I am so busy often stems from not having the right structures and boundaries set up. And so I can tell you from my personal experience, the seasons in my life where I was so busy, I was not in control. And what that meant was that I had a dis I I was being reactive to things versus being in control of things. And in order for me to make that change, it took more than just calendar management. You know, it's not as easy as just saying, 'I'm going to take these things off my calendar.' Sometimes it takes the identity work of knowing it's okay to say no to stuff, and it's okay to confront those conversations, and it's okay to uh quote unquote potentially disappoint people, to not carry all of the weight for certain responsibility that maybe somebody in your life wants you to carry. And really going through that and carving through it one by one is how you create a path that looks like more alignment and looks like prioritizing yourself first. Um it's not something that necessarily is done quickly. It it can take a little bit of time, but you you kind of have to start looking at how are you prioritizing yourself in your life and is your life running you or are you running it? Oh, that's wonderful. All right, we have time for one more question, then we'll ask you for some final thoughts as we wrap for the afternoon. And Alexandra says, 'And how have you learned to influence others that are always full of excuses? It could be a work situation or it could be just asking a friend to go to lunch.' Can you can you ask that again? Um, I think it's an it's, you know, when it's talking about, you know, taking control. How have you learned to influence others that are always full of excuses about, you know, not taking time for themselves? It could be a work situation or it could be just asking a friend to go to lunch. I think the best case here is to actually deta detach from the outcome of how other people live and completely releasing that if other people are stuck in their own drama triangle, that's the life experience that they're having. So that actually correlates really well to the one example I had of the the client I was talking to a few hours ago. There was a a big emotional attachment to somebody else succeeding. But people will rise when they want to rise and we don't get to decide when and if that happens. And our responsibility is just to completely believe that everybody is on their own path and that they are 100% responsible for their own decisions and how they can move forward. Now, there's probably another conversation here and how can you navigate that communication wise when it comes to two people working on a project together in a company, which is a little bit different than what we're talking about here, but from emo an emotional perspective, we just have to release.
Well, very well said. Thank you. So, as we wrap for the afternoon, do you have any final words of wisdom to all of our viewers today? Oh my goodness. I just I can't imagine how much information you guys all took in with all these incredible women. I know I was only here for Julie, so I just would in invite everybody um anytime that I go to an event or I'm listening to speakers. I always give myself a little bit of room to digest um you know, maybe tomorrow or sometime over the weekend, go back over your notes and you don't need to know everything that everybody said today. You just need to pick out what is most important to you in this season of your life. and where can you implement that moving forward? Um, sometimes information overload can happen. So, yeah, I just invite everybody to really take time and and think about what is most impactful to you and what you really need from whoever it was that spoke today to to help transform your life. Well, thank you so much for your time this afternoon. We really appreciate it. Well, thank you to all of our speakers today, both our panel members and our keynote speakers. And thank you to all of our viewers as well on your fantastic questions. So, until next time, this is Ginger Wattley signing off. Have a great afternoon, everyone.
All right. I just need to move the bar down. Can you confirm with me that you're seeing what I'm seeing? And that's the mindset training foundation for success. That looks fantastic. Thank you. Thank you so much. All right. What a great training, Julie. Thank you very much for that. And we're going to dive right in. Thank you so much for staying this this long.
